Edgenuity for Semester 1-American History 1

Who?
1. Who do I contact with questions about Edgenuity for Mrs. Edwards' American History 1 class?
Answer: Please contact Mrs. Edwards with any questions you have about Edgenuity for her American History 1 class. She can be contacted via email at [email protected] or via phone at the school number: (980) 343-3840.
2. Who has the opportunity to complete Edgenuity?
Answer: Students that failed American History 1 for semester one will be contacted by Mrs. Edwards in class about Edgenuity.
What?
1. What is Edgenuity?
Answer: Edgenuity is an online course being used this year (2015-2016) to supplement American History 1, semester one, information.
2. What happens if all of the required Edgenuity coursework is completed?
Answer: The highest grade a student can receive if they complete ALL of the required coursework is a 60% for semester one.
3. If a student completes more than is required, can he or she receive a higher grade or extra credit?
Answer: No. Only the required sections of the course will be considered. Nothing more, nothing less.
When?
1. When can my student access Edgenuity?
Answer: Edgenuity needs to be accessed outside of class time. The media center at North Mecklenburg High School is available for students, most days, before school, after school and during lunch (with an appropriate pass from a teacher). Students may also access Edgenuity at home on a personal computer.
2. When is Edgenuity coursework due?
Answer: The ABSOLUTE LAST DAY to complete any online coursework will be April 15 before 2:30pm. Any work completed after 2:30pm on April 15 will NOT be considered toward semester one points. Teacher discretion will be used when reviewing my Edgnuity course work and the number of points possibly added to my semester one grade for American History 1.

1. Where does my student get log-in information for Edgenuity?
Answer: Mrs. Edwards will provide log-in information for students. Your student will be given an index card to write down this information. It is recommended that this index card is kept in a safe and secure location.
Why?
1. Why does my student have to complete Edgenuity?
Answer: Edgenuity is NOT REQUIRED. This is an opportunity presented to your student to assist them with reviewing information from the first half of the course and to assist with potentially bringing up their semester one grade for American History 1. Your student is being presented with this opportunity, but it is up to him or her to take advantage of it in order to reap the benefits. If they would like the opportunity to 1) review course information in preparation for the North Carolina Final Exam and 2) bring up their semester one grade to increase their chances of passing the course, then Edgenuity is for them.
